Somalia And Djibouti Will Work Closely Together To Combat Terrorism

Abdulqadir Mohamed Nur, the Federal Government of Somalia’s Defence Minister, met with his Djiboutian counterpart, Hassan Omar Mohamed (Burhan), and Djibouti’s Armed Forces chief, Sakarie Sheikh Ibrahim. Mr. Nur expressed gratitude to the government and people of Djibouti for their support and dedication to the people and government of Somalia. The Minister emphasised the importance of the two brotherly countries working closely together to eradicate terrorism in order to achieve peace, development, and prosperity between the two countries and throughout the region.

Mr. Burhan, for his part, said that the government and people of Djibouti are fully supporting the people’s struggle, and that the Somali National Army is clearing out Al-Shabaab terrorists from the country. He also noted that Somalia’s peace and stability are the foundation for regional and global peace. “As a result, Djibouti State is committed to assisting the government of Somalia in ensuring security and combating terrorism,” he stated.
