The flow of water in river Shabelle is gradually coming back to elevate after nearly three weeks of absence in many parts of Hiran and Middle Shabelle regions.
The Jowhar city, for example, where the river passes across is seen the sources of the river’s water coming back to normal that left the residents joyous and glad over this remarkable moment.
The residents also gathered in crowd to witness as some started to take bath in the river at the dyke — a wall built to prevent the river from covering the city or channel dug to take water away from the city known as Xiintoy in their vernacular language.
The river Shabelle that follows in Hiran and the two Shabelle regions is significantly and hugely important for the farmers and farms particularly as they use it as source of irrigation.
