Southwest Administration has on Sunday told that it is planning to take an operation in areas still under the militant group of Al-Shabaab soon according to the officials.
Minister of Information of Southwest State, Hassan Mohamed Abdi confirmed SONNA that his administration is committed to remove the militants out in Bay region southwest Somalia.
“We are planning to carry out a planned operation against Al-Shabab in Bay region, Somali National Army and the African Union Peacekeeping Troops will reach and have a military presence in key areas in this region”, Mr. Hassan said.
Somali National Army backed by the African Union Peacekeeping Troops conduct regular operations against the militants in the south and central Somalia.
