At least three militant group of Al-Shabaab were on Wednesday killed in an operation at Abdala Birole location, some 60 kilometers southwest of Kismayo, the administrative capital of Jubbaland State by SNA and AMISOM, officials said.
AMISOM Force Spokesperson, Joe Kibet told Somali National News Agency ‘SONNA’ that Somali National Army and the African Union Peacekeeping Troops carried out an ambush attack at the area and killed three terrorist militants.
“AMISOM troops and SNA Special Forces while on patrol ambushed Al-Shabaab terrorists and killed 3 of them without sustaining any casualties, there was no resistance, they fled because they are cowards”, The Spokesperson said.
The Spokesperson of AU remarks came hours after reports from the region were saying that SNA’s Commandos and U.S forces conducted operation at the same area on Wednesday morning.
Somali Commandos also carried out another successful operation in Sakow town in middle Jubba last week, an attack that targeted top Al-Shabaab militants and foreign Jihadists according to military sources.
