Jubba Regions: Al-Shabaab Suffers Its Heaviest Losses

Credible reports indicate that heavy airstrikes targeted key facilities belonging to Al-Shabaab in various locations across the Jubba regions. These strikes resulted in massive losses, including human casualties, destruction of military assets, and a significant blow to the group’s operational and communication capabilities. The attacks are described as one of the most devastating setbacks Al-Shabaab has suffered in recent times.

Details of the Strikes

Five different locations were targeted:

 

1. A training camp where forces were undergoing training, located near the Salagle district, approximately 26 kilometers away.

2. A large military assembly site where around 600 fighters were being prepared for an attack on Jubaland. This site was near Bu’aale, and the strike resulted in the deaths of many of these fighters.

3. A weapons and explosives storage facility located in a remote area north of Jilib. The strike destroyed large quantities of weapons and explosives, killing approximately 10 experts, including senior officials.

4. Al-Shabaab’s communications center in Saakow district, Middle Jubba region.

5. A compound housing foreign fighters affiliated with Al-Shabaab in the outskirts of Kunya Barrow district, where more than 60 foreign militants were reportedly killed
