Suspected Somali bandits on Tuesday killed two people in Mwingi during a fight over grazing areas.
Police said five camels were also slashed to death and several houses torched during the attack.
The area remained tense for the better part of the day as police drove the Somali herders away.
“More officers have been deployed to the area to maintain law and order,” an officer said.
Six people have been killed since December following fights over pasture as the drought persists.
On December 24, bandits posing as herders gunned down a man in Katangini, Ukasi, Mwingi East.
