A series of coordinated airstrikes targeted key terrorist strongholds and military facilities located in different parts of southern Somalia. The operations focused on strategic camps, weapons storage sites, and military supply centers reportedly used by foreign fighters and local militants.
Three major camps housing specially trained forces, consisting of both foreign fighters and Somali militants, were targeted in the following locations:
Outskirts of Jilib in the Middle Juba region
Outskirts of Arabow town in the Lower Shabelle region
Outskirts of Hawa village in the Lower Shabelle region
The attacks reportedly caused heavy casualties among the militants. The camps were struck by approximately six airstrikes, and reports indicate that more than 200 foreign fighters were killed.
Among the senior figures reportedly killed were:
Abu Cazaam — originally from Yemen and believed to have been the overall commander of the forces
Abu Hureera — senior commander
Abu Muhsin — senior commander
Abu Rashiid — senior commander
Abu Maahir — senior commander
Abu Jaabir — senior commander
All of them were described as high-ranking officials.
In a separate operation, the largest terrorist explosives storage facility, located in Tawakal village near Sablale in the Lower Shabelle region, was destroyed.
More than 4,000 tons of explosive materials were reportedly demolished.
Another targeted site was a military equipment and weapons storage center reportedly used by the militants.
The facility contained missiles and other military supplies and was located between Biyamaalow village and Bulasheekh village in the Lower Shabelle region.
Overall, a total of five key locations considered strategically important to the terrorist group were successfully targeted.
