Israel’s military has acknowledged responsibility for an air strike in southern Lebanon’s Nabatieh area that it said killed a member of Hezbollah’s Radwan commando unit.
The Israeli military did not name the target but said he was plotting attacks against Israel and working to “rebuild Hezbollah’s military infrastructure”.
It claimed the person’s activities “posed a threat to the state of Israel and its citizens, and constituted a violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon”.
Despite a ceasefire agreed last November, Israel has continued to carry out regular attacks in southern Lebanon, claiming to target Hezbollah figures.
