Radio Risaala, is an independent radio and website based in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia. Radio Risaala FM radio 102.2 MHZ and a website www.radiorisaala.com was launched on 24 June 2001 (with the name of IQK Radio) to serve for the all-Somali speaking community in east Africa.
During its 18 hours on air (5:00 AM-11:00 PM), Radio Risaala focuses to educate and entertaining and inform the people of Somalia with accurate and truth-based news.
Radio Risaala broadcasts news in its daily and weekly programs those including; entertainment, peace, culture, education, health, sports, economy and politics.
Radio Risaala is not affiliated with any particular group in the country whether it is political party, religious or racism group.

Following the capacity of our transmitter and the high-quality programs we deliver, Radio Risaala target audiences are increasingly going high day-to-day with the destination of the regions in the southern part of the country. The Somali National Army have officially commenced Phase II of Somali National Army (SNA) Reforms, an important component in the larger Somali Security Sector Reforms as contained in the Security and Justice Roadmap. Speaking to the media at the event where Phase II of SNA Reform was launched, Prime Minister, H.E Hassan Ali Khaire commended SNA for the attainment of this milestone, terming it “a significant step forward and a testimony to Government’s commitment to the restoration and development of all State Institutions”. The PM recognized the hardworking State officers and all who contributed to the successful conclusion of phase one.
The event, which took place at the 60th Battalion HQs, was also attended by Minister for Defense, H.E Hassan Ali Mohamed and senior SNA Commanders, including the Chief of Defense Force, (CDF) General Dahir Adan Elmi (Indhaqarshe)
Phase II of SNA reform involves verification of forces registered biometrically, ensuring that each officer is stationed and is in active duty at their respective units, as well as establishing their infrastructural and combat capabilities. Phase II will also include a complete Human Resource system which will capture all details of each officer.
SNA Chief of Defense Force expressed his satisfaction with the successes achieved this far, particularly the successful implementation of phase one of the SNA reform that ensured conducting headcount, registration and payment of salaries via their respective bank accounts. The CDF instructed the various commanders to fully participate in this second phase until its successful conclusion.
